alextide32 (2/21/07) Video killed the radio star

The other day on vent I asked Sapphi if she needed any more DJ's on the radio she was DJing on. She asked the owner of sekainomelody.com if I could help DJ and she approved. I am now a DJ on Sekai no Melody radio. I will do my radio show from 6-8 PM everyday, so listen for me here! Also I set up a weblog for my IRC channels to log all links said in the channel here. alextide32 (1/26/07) Minor Update

I bring you this news post with some more updates as of right now. First off, I decided the new logo wasp made didn't seem to fit the site, so I changed it back. Another thing is, I bought the domain ghettorevival.org. Currently it just redirects you to my Ghetto Revival YTMND I made, while i'm not too sure of what I should do with the domain, I am currently using it for DNS forwarding purposes (such as a vhost on IRC and ventrilo). Also, I have fixed the email problem on flyinglobsters.com so all the email accounts should be working properly now. It looked as if it was just the DNS MX entries for mail.flyinglobsters.com were not forwarded properly. So if you have been trying to send me or any other FL staff member emails during the past few weeks, they probably were getting rejected. So now feel free to contact me anytime at alextide32@flyinglobsters.com. Last thing I would like to mention is the new FlyingLobsters Calendar! I found it in the nifty Fantastico package included in cpanel. All of the flyinglobsters.com staff can post current events happening. Currently, public entries are not allowed (for obvious reasons) but if you would like for me to set you up an account to post events, please feel free to email me! Thats all for now

xXWaspXx (1/21/07) Tinkertown

Well, like Alex said, I haven't been making any major changes to the site recently. I've changed the header back and put a different lobster on it. I've also been devising a new way to organize the news based on Alex's recent change. I think that, for the time being, I'm just going to put all the news stories on one page and link all of the news story links to that page. I'm also thinking that within the near future, flyinglobsters may undergo some long overdue cosmetic changes, since it hasn't changed much in appearance since the day I launched the main color scheme. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and feel free to e-mail me. (I think the e-mail should be up and running again :P) Until next time, live long and prosper- lool

alextide32 (1/13/07) AAAAND WE'RE BACK!

Well, it looks like this is the first news post of the new year! I have a few things to upade you on. First, I know the site has been down quite a lot lately. Thats mainly because I had some nameserver trouble with my new shell account, which brings me to the next update. A few weeks ago I purchased a unix shell account from Sh3lls.net, so now I can sign on IRC and keep the channel secure. I can also host an eggdrop bot off the shell. So I brought my old mIRC bot, AwesomeO, back to life in eggdrop form. The nameserver problem came from when I tried to forward my nameservers to sh3lls.net so when I sign on IRC it gives me the hostname alextide@flyinglobsters.com instead of displaying my IP address to the channel. Unfortunitally, when I did so, it forwared the entire domain to sh3lls.net so I couldn't have a website anymore. So I changed them back to Tool's hosting. Also I found out I can just use a public vhost instead. So now my hostname just shows up as alextide@kill3r.us. Again, you can always chat with us on IRC on EFnet in channel #FL. The last update I want to mention is something I thought long overdue, the clutter of news on the front page. I have sorted some of the older news posts into a new section of the site called News. Another thing is I am now taking a web design class, so hopefully I will learn some new stuff and possibly improve the site! Well thats all for now. alextide32 (12/22/06) oh hi, it's me again :)

Ok, so it has been awhile since this site has been updated at all, over a month :o . Wasp seems to have been busy and I have just been lazy! lol, anyway I have decided to just update the site myself since there has been a lot of stuff needing to be updated. For one, I finally made us an About Us page. Also, I made us a favicon and robots.txt file. For those of you who don't know, a favicon is the little icon you see when you add a site to your favories, and robots.txt is to tell search bots, like google's bot, to allow it to search the page and add search results on google. So maybe we'll have some more results when you search for us on google. Next thing is I added a directory page for just some random files I don't know where else to put on the site (such as ramcat). Check it out HERE. Last thing is you may notice some snowflakes falling from the page. Yes I added the snowflakes script (not to be confused with snowflakes.exe XD) to add a little Christmas spirit to flyinglobsters.com! Y helo thar! Yes, Wasp is not the only one who makes these news posts. I have updated the 404 error page, so if you try to go to a link on the site that doesn't exist, you will find this page. Also I have been uploading some of rfbandit's prank calls and Wasp will be making a new section called "Prank Calls" where you can listen to them. Also I have been working on my profile page. Moar updates soon! =P

xXWaspXx (12/11/06) New updates? lolol

First new update in a while eh? Well first off, there hasn't been much news to report in the first place. In terms of forums, things are going pretty smoothly, but still with not many users to participate. (This is a hint for you guys to start getting your friends involved ;) :P) In terms of the actual site content, I've contacted rfbandit about making a section for some of ventrilo's prank call recordings. This could be mildly funny, but also costly on bandwidth- overall a considerable idea, but right now it's still up in the air, as what's left to do at the moment is in rfbandit's hands. Also, you may notice a new section on the header called "Photoshop". Lately I've needed a creative outlet for pointless photoshops, so there you have it. It's there for anyone who wants to use it- if you have something to add, send it to me at xXWaspXx@flyinglobsters.com. Any shops, (SFW shops), will be considered. Make sure to leave your ytmnd/flyinglobsters forums usernames. That's all for now, more to come. :3

xXWaspXx (29/10/06) New hosting? MySQL? PHP?! FORUMS!!

Well folks this update is probably the most profound yet. If you've been reading into the earlier articles you'll notice that I mentioned the fact that we weren't able to host our own forums because of the fact that GoDaddy free hosting goes by the old phrase: "You get what you pay for". See what I did there? Anyhow, I'm quite pleased to announce that we have new hosting with a package that normally only paying customers would get- and beyond. Toolofthesystem has been working for a web development company that procures a hosting package for it's customers from HostGator, and is allowed to use hosting for his own personal endeavors. And, well, flyinglobsters.com happens to be one such endeavor. We're now officially equipped to handle MySQL queries, upload databases, as well as use PHP and the like. We did a trial run with a copy of vBulletin earlier, then took it off promptly after. The old forums are being labelled NSFW forums, and can still be accessed from the frontpage. I think it's a good idea to keep it this way so that the NSFW forums will be the ones not hosted on the main server, so they can be NSFW all they want. Now you're asking: "What about the SFW forums?". Well, tomorrow Michie, (although she doesn't know this yet) will be attempting to upload some actual free forum software, so we can't get screwed over if someone tries to report us. We're thinking Invision or MyBB. Also, with this new hosting, we're actually able to properly run email accounts off of the site. For instance, my email account at xXWaspXx@flyinglobsters.com no longer redirects to my Gmail, but to an actual on-server email inbox (which I can access from Thunderbird), making it much easier on myself and the rest of the staff. I've also replaced the clumsy static html indexes with spiffy new PHP ones, so that I don't have to manually do everything site by site when I want to update a link on the header or footer. Anyways, that's it for now, much more to come, and will update again tomorrow if the new on-server forums are a success. MeoW

xXWaspXx (22/10/06) The Concept Of Love

It's been a while since the last update- 8 days to be more specific. I haven't really been concentrating on flyinglobsters all that much, but there's a couple things I've done since the last update. For one, I made scottendo a staff page, (as I should do for alex next). Secondly, I updated the radio page to accommodate the recent activity regarding the radio itself. Lately we've been able to get the radio up and off the ground, thanks to Poker1 and his YTMND TV broadcasting system. While being labelled as Flying Lobsters Radio, it's also acting as YTMND radio (for the moment). The forums remain relatively inactive... more members (and activity) would be greatly appreciated. The IRC is doing relatively well, with a couple more members that have decided to stay in there constantly, though we have not been able to find a good free shell to host a bot on. During the days, when Alex's computer is on, he has his bot in there to maintain things. Other than that, anyone that has a decent shell that they would be willing to let us use can contact me at xXWaspXx@flyinglobsters.com. Oh, and before I forget, Pizzaguylol made his first soundboard, filled mostly with his soundmixes. It's rather large, and can be accessed in our Soundboards section. Keep on truckin', pals.
